SASE for the AI Era: Driving Secure, Distributed, and Optimized AI

Posted: 12th Feb 2026

AI is no longer something enterprises are experimenting with on the side.  It’s turning up everywhere, quietly re-writing the rules for how we work. What started as chatbots is now a whole world of intelligent agents: optimizing supply chains, helping developers code, and even running warehouse operations—all at machine speed.

Here’s what’s new: these AI agents aren’t tied to one spot. They’re distributed across users, branches, clouds, and tools—often far from the models and data they rely on. That distribution isn’t an edge case anymore; it’s how AI actually runs inside modern enterprises.

But while enthusiasm for AI runs high, readiness often doesn’t keep up. Cisco’s AI Readiness Index shows that while 75% of organizations see AI as critical to their strategy, fewer than 30% feel fully prepared to support it at scale. That gap—between ambition and reality—is where many teams start to feel the limits of traditional networks and security.
